Appointment to the Advisory Board is on the recommendation of the Chair of the Advisory Board (the CEO of The Sydney Children’s Hospital Network) on advice from the Director of NCIRS. Nominated members of the Board (or their representative) include the Director, Kids Research Institute, The Children’s Hospital at Westmead; the Assistant Secretary, Immunisation Branch, Office of Health Protection, Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing; the Manager, Immunisation Unit, AIDS/Infectious Diseases Branch, NSW Department of Health; a representative from the Discipline of Paediatrics and Child Health, Faculty of Medicine, University of Sydney; and the Chairperson of the NCIRS Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC).
The primary purpose of the Advisory Board is to monitor the governance, growth and financial sustainability of NCIRS. The Board provides advice and guidance on the Centre’s strategic direction and organisational development to the CEO of The Sydney Children’s Hospital Network, who is the Board’s ex-officio Chair.
