The report: Vaccine Preventable Diseases in Australia, 2005 to 2007

The fifth national surveillance report on the epidemiology of vaccine preventable diseases, Vaccine Preventable Diseases in Australia, 2005 to 2007, prepared by NCIRS, has been published as a supplement issue of Communicable Diseases Intelligence, Vol 34, December 2010.
This latest report presents trends on 16 vaccine preventable diseases from three major sources of national data – notifications (2006 and 2007), hospitalisations (2005/06 and 2006/07), and deaths (2005 and 2006).
The slide sets
NCIRS has developed some slide sets to facilitate dissemination of surveillance information contained in this report for educational purposes.
These slide sets consist of figures and tables extracted from Vaccine Preventable Diseases in Australia, 2005 to 2007. The numbering of the tables and figures corresponds to that used in the original report.
Please refer to the original report for detailed descriptions relevant to each of the figures and tables. The full report is accessible online:
In each of the slide sets, several slides on the methods and data limitations have been included to facilitate presentation of this data. Please also note the descriptions of methods and limitations regarding data interpretation in the Methods section (Section 2) of the full report.
The slide sets are available for download in pdf format. You will require Adobe Reader to access these files.
